Volume 1, Issue 2 (September 2026) of the Human Social Review (HSR) brings research articles addressing contemporary issues in culture, governance, social development, poverty, and community well-being across Asia. The issue presents evidence from Malaysia, India, Bangladesh, and South Asia, reflecting the journal’s interdisciplinary focus on human and social dimensions of development. The contributions examine cultural globalisation and local identity, social movements and policy reform, civic engagement and local governance, poverty reduction and household well-being, and mental health interventions and community cohesion. The studies employ diverse empirical approaches, including time-series ARDL analysis and mediation-based frameworks, to investigate the social processes and institutional factors shaping communities and societies. The articles contribute empirical perspectives to ongoing discussions on cultural change, civic participation, social protection, governance, and human well-being.
